Weihnachtsberg

A Christmas Mountain is a mountain-like landscape replica from the Erzgebirge, which is set during Christmas time inside the house. Shown nursery and mine designs, beyond even local issues. The figures and the machines used, provided that they are designed to be movable, driven by a mechanism.

Have their origin in the mountains Christmas hump mines of the 18th century, which accounted for only mining motifs. In the 19th century the Christmas motif has been added.

In the Museum of Mining Folk Art in Schneeberg in 2008 there were a special exhibition of Christmas mountains.
