History

Being, was first mentioned as a hamlet by 1113.

On September 20, 1977 fall near the village from two US- American combat aircraft from Spangdahlem. Three soldiers can save with the ejection seat. The fourth, Captain John Mike Wertz, died on impact.

Geographical location

Being, among troughs located on the western Swabian Alb. The community belongs to the space stem and the recreation area Upper Schlichemtal.

Historical Geography

In the municipality the waste places of laughter, Armweiler and high Stetten and Outbound castle Heath Schlossle are in the hallways and Postal Heidenschlößle. Laughter was probably in the 8th century and was 785 as in loco Lahha first mentioned. The place existed until the 13th century. To laugh belonged to the Ottilie chapel, which was formerly called St. Mary. Armweiler was named as Flurname Armweyler 1685 for the first time. The first mention of the name Hochstetten is unknown today, but there is the field name Hochstetts.
