Structures

The main attraction of the place is the nameless village church. The little church is very old. Documents, in which the Church is mentioned, say that they already existed in the 13th century. It is believed that this is the oldest church in Thuringia village. Probably it was built in the course of travel of Boniface of Ohrdruf in the 8th century. In a square entering an cubical, stone altar meet under certain conditions, the sun's rays, a fact which indicates a place of pagan worship that was perhaps rebuilt in the wake of the missionary Boniface by the locals to a Christian church. The church contains two galleries and about 120 seats, a space that has complied with the church attendance of former times. The parish is part of the parish Metebach, which continues to belong to the parishes Neufrankenroda, Asbach and Ebenheim.

Economy and infrastructure

The place is dominated by agriculture, with most of the arable land is cultivated by a company based in Sonneborn.
