History

Weischlitz was first documented 1274.

The district Kloschwitz 1579-1582 was affected by witch hunts. Cunegonde, wife of the farmer Heinrich Schmidt, 70 old, was caught in a witch trial.

Traffic

1874 and Weischlitz station is located at the Plauen- Cheb railway line, also here ends the rail line from Gera Süd ( also referred to as Elstertal train). In the southeast Weischlitz has a direct connection to the motorway 72 The districts are linked with buses in public transport.

Attractions

Worth seeing is the under preservation of Weischlitz Old Well, a probably unique in the Vogtland ensemble of half-timbered manor house and two barns. The building complex was reconstructed in the years 1995-1997. In the former manor, the local government has its headquarters A barn is used by the church as a community center and another by a financial institution, the Sparkasse Vogtland.
