Weiser is a city and county seat in Washington County in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Idaho. Weiser has 5222 inhabitants in an area of 6.1 km ² and is located at the confluence of the Weiser River and the Snake River. The city is located on 647 m.

History

Weiser was probably named after the Weiser River. Others claim that Weiser was named after Peter M. Weiser, a soldier of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Another theory suggests that the city was named after the trapper Jacob Weiser.
