Weissbach (Innsbruck)

Weissbach case

The Tuffbach, locally also Weissbach (eastern pond moat ) arises below the Lepsius studs in today's Alpine Zoo Innsbruck, 720 meters above sea level, and flows in a southerly direction past the Englishman grave to the high way and ends near the old hunger Burg railway bridge at the Hans- Psenner bridge in the Inn. It is entirely due to Innsbruck city, and marks the border district Hoetting - Muehlau (Innsbruck ).

Although the creek is only 500 meters long, it has a large catchment area, since almost the entire eastern hunger castle plateau drained here, right up to the Seegrube and Seegrubenspitze and Hafelekarspitze. The fact that this limestone region is extremely arid, hunger castle has earned its name. The creek itself arises from the Bank of Höttinger breccia, which is eponymous for the old geographical names on the gray stone. The stream name indicates the resulting tufa.

He also comes up with an interesting Location: On the High Way ( house numbers 12 and 13), the water plunges 12 meters in depth and forms the Weissbach case can be heard rustling from the road and can see. As a protection against flooding the sump is concreted to prevent overflowing of the stream.

The water is usually grade I - II
