Weißer Stein

The white stone is a 548 meter high mountain in the Odenwald, north of Heidelberg and east of Dossenheim.

At the White Stone is a 20 meter high observation tower, which was built in 1906 by members of the Odenwaldklub. The tower offered in good weather views of other high mountains of the Odenwald as Melibokus, Katzenbuckel, Tromm and Neunkircher height, but is now largely overgrown by tall trees. In the environment of the tower is the height Restaurant White Stone, to a beer garden.

The ascent to the White Stone offers a challenging profile for cyclists. Judging from the beginning of the climb in the Dossenheimer center of (height main road No. 5), the distance is 6.31 km to the lookout tower. This one overcomes a height difference of 432 meters, which corresponds to an average slope of 6.8%. The steepest sections are located in the lower third between the Evangelical Church and the end of the switchbacks, the forest road at the level of three- oak log cabin with a maximum of 15%.
