Geography
Weitramsdorf is about five kilometers west of Coburg. The village is surrounded by forests and is situated in a side valley of the Unterrodach.
Boroughs
The community Weitramsdorf consists of the nine parts of the municipality Altenhof, Gersbach, Hergramsdorf, nine village, Weidach Bird stove, Schlettach, Tambach, Weidach and Weitramsdorf. Weitramsdorf is the seat of the administration.
History
Weitramsdorf was first mentioned in documents in 1177. As part of the Coburg region, the settlement belonged in the 13th century and the local rulers of Henneberger, which passed in the 14th century to the House of Wettin. Until 1920 was Weitramsdorf part of Saxe- Coburg, then it came to the Free State of Bavaria.
The district Tambach was already 874 mentioned as Tanbah.
Incorporations
Weitramsdorf Schlettach and Gersbach formed in 1869 a church. On 1 January 1972 Altenhof was incorporated. The former municipality of nine village (previously in the district of Season Stone ) was added on July 1, 1972. Finally Weidach was incorporated on May 1, 1978.

Economy
The Furniture Factory, founded in 1876 by Michael Albrecht Albrecht and after insolvency in 1997 was closed temporarily with over 400 employees is the largest employer in the town. For a carpenter, a company had emerged that produced on an area of over 75,000 square meters of furniture and interiors. During the Second World War gliders were produced.
Besides Albrecht there was also the furniture factories Hilmar Franz and Heinz Kräußlich. Overall, the three companies in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s had more than 700 employees.

From Weitramsdorf the roads to Sesslach, Coburg, Meeder, bathroom Unterrodach and the Thuringian Ummerstadt.
