Wellblechpalast since October 6, 2001, officially the name of the Hall 1 of the synthetic ice rink in the sports forum Hohenschonhausen in Berlin, which in 2007/ 08 was the home of the Hockey Team Polar bears Berlin until the end of the DEL Season. The youth teams of polar bears Juniors Berlin, the Berlin Schlittschuhclub and some amateur teams play in the future in the hall, some of the hall is also used by the Oberliga FASS Berlin and ECC Preussen Berlin Juniors. The Wellblechpalast is also the venue of the speed skating and ice speedway competitions.

Operator of the 1963 completed stadium is the city of Berlin.

The term " Wellblechpalast " was initially coined by a journalist rather pejorative. In the 1990s, this term has become increasingly trailer before October 6, 2001, the hall also officially received its name.

History

International Tournaments

The Hockey Teams SC Dynamo Berlin and later the Berlin Polar Bears held in Wellblechpalast various tournaments with international participation. In addition, the IIHF Under-18 European Championships were held here from 9 to 16 April 1995 in which the German team surprisingly Vice European Champion.
