The Wells Fargo Arena is a sports arena in Des Moines in the U.S. state of Iowa.

Opened in 2005, provides multi-purpose arena with 16,980 seats and is named after the banking and financial services company Wells Fargo. Equipped is the hall with 36 suites, 20 VIP boxes, 600 club seats and a restaurant called The Principal River's Edge with 180 seats. The Wells Fargo Arena is part of the Iowa Event Center, to which even the exhibition hall Hy -Vee Hall, Veterans Memorial Auditorium was inaugurated in 1955 belong with 11,227 seats and the Polk County Convention Complex. In 2008, the Iowa Barnstormers of the Arena Football League attracted ( AFL) from the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in the larger hall to. In the multi -purpose hall the first game of the 2010 revived Arena Football League between the Iowa Barnstormers and Chicago Rush was held on April 2, 2010. The game was transmitted as AFL "Game of the Week" nationally by NFL Network. The wrestling league WWE was with several of their events like Smackdown, RAW or ECW as a guest.

The hall was officially opened on 12 July 2005. The first event in the Wells Fargo Arena took place with the Tony Hawk's Boom Boom Huck Jam on July 14, 2005. The first concert gave Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers on 18 July 2005 along with the Black Crowes.
