Wendtorf

Wendtorf is a municipality in the district of Plön, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Geography and transport

Wendtorf lies east of the Kiel fjord and is divided into two districts Marina Wendtorf and Wendtorfer beach on the Baltic Sea and the old town center a few hundred meters inland.

History

A first place at this location was first mentioned in 1240. In 1440 the town was named Wendtorf. 1796, the first houses were built near the beach. The former fishing village now lives on tourism.

Policy

Of the eleven seats in the municipal council, the SPD has since the local elections 2008 eight seats, the CDU has two and the voter community FWG one seat

Marina Wendtorf
