Wendy Hiller

Dame Wendy Margaret Hiller DBE ( born August 15, 1912 in Bramhall, Cheshire, England; † 14 May 2003 in Beaconsfield ) was a British actress.

She was the grande dame of British theater. Become famous on the stages of London, Hiller played later in New York and was also a star of cinema. Even cameos were great roles for them. She starred in over 40 films, including 1974 in Murder on the Orient Express. For her role in 1958 in Separated from bed and she won an Oscar.

1975 Hiller was received by Queen Elizabeth II as Dame Commander in the Order of the British Empire. From her marriage in 1937 closed with playwright Ronald Gow († 1993) were born a son and a daughter.
