Wendy Wyland

Janna Wendy Wyland ( born November 25, 1964 in Jackson, † 27 September 2003 in Rochester ) was an American Water Diving. She jumped at the 3- m- art and in the 10 -meter platform diving. From the tower, she won the 1984 Olympic bronze in 1982 and became world champion.

Wyland began at the age of six years with the water jump. At 14, she moved to Mission Viejo to train at the local training center under coach Ron O'Brien. She jumped for the club Mission Viejo Nadadores. Wyland won in 1981 by 10 - m tower its first National and a year later at the World Championships in Guayaquil her first international title. At the Pan American Games 1983 in Caracas Wyland won silver from the 3 -meter board her only medal in springboard diving, they also won a gold medal from the tower. Wyland participated in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles in part and won the bronze medal from the tower.
