Wenn alle untreu werden
"If all become unfaithful, we are remaining faithful " is the opening line of an internationally known German folk song and students of Max von Schenkendorfstraße of 1814.
History
Schenkendorfstraße dedicated the song "From the account of the Holy German Empire - An Jahn ". One impetus came from the same spiritual song Novalis ' ( printed 1802) from. The melody was ( "Who wants to hunt, to get up early " ), a French hunting song from 1724, in a slightly modified form of Pour all à la chasse faut être matineux. It is through the drinking song There sat the old Germans on both banks of the Rhine remained popular.
Since 1923, a version exists with one of the Dutch Geusenhymne borrowed way.
In the era of National Socialism the song as " loyalty song" of the Schutzstaffel (SS) was used. In SS songbook it was " exposed after the Song of Germany and the Horst- Wessel-Lied [ ... ] the third " section. The version in the SS Songbook largely corresponds to the text taverns village, the third stanza and emoluments accounted monarchist ideas. According to the historian Karsten Wilke loyalty was " excessive main virtue " within the SS as what is called My honor in the motto loyalty reproduce itself. In the Federal Republic of Germany the song of the aid community on reciprocity of the members of the former Waffen-SS ( HIAG ) continued to be used internally and publicly.

Schenkendorfstraße (1814 ) If all become unfaithful, So we still remain faithful; That still on earth For you, a troop was. Once again it is bright, in all the brothers sense they return to the source in love and joy back.
