Wenzel Fuchs

Wenzel Fuchs ( born 1963 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian concert clarinetist. He is also self masterclasses and is a member of the Berlin Philharmonic.

Wenzel Fuchs grew up in a musizierfreudigen Tyrolean family and played at a young age in local brass bands clarinet. After training at the Conservatory of Innsbruck ( Prof. Walter Kefer ) he studied at the Vienna Academy of Music with Prof. Peter Schmidl and collected during this time as a substitute first orchestral experience with the Vienna Philharmonic. After graduating he was principal clarinetist in the Vienna Volksoper and the Symphony Orchestra of the ORF. Since 1993 he is a member of the Berlin Philharmonic. He is a lecturer at the Orchestra Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic and guest professor at the Sakuyou University of Music in Okayama / Japan. In addition to performing as a soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and as a guest in other internationally recognized orchestras, he belongs to the chamber formations Berlin Philharmonic Wind Soloists, Berlin Philharmonic Wind Ensemble, Philharmonic Octet and Ensemble Metropolis.
