Werentzhouse
Werentzhouse ( German Werenzhausen ) is a commune with 574 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ), in the Alsace Haut -Rhin. It belongs to the district Altkirch, founded the Canton Ferrette and the 2001 Association of Municipalities Ill et Gersbach.
Geography
The municipality is located on the upper Ill in southern Sundgau and is about 17 kilometers from Altkirch and 20 km from Basel.
Neighboring communities of Werentzhouse are Muespach in the northeast, Fislis in the southeast, southwest, and Durmenach Bouxwiller in the northwest.
The municipality had a station on the railway line Altkirch - Ferrette of 1892. The passenger traffic was shut down in 1953. The last freight train reversed in 1968, then the distance from Hirsingue was shut down. The station building ⊙ 47.518690627.35368505 has been preserved and is now used as a residence.
