Werner Krien

Werner Krien ( born March 7, 1912 in Berlin, † March 6, 1975 Berlin) worked about 1931-1965 in about 70 mostly German films as a cinematographer and camera assistant.

Krien learned the movies with his father and then worked in a lab. In the Terra film he worked as an editor and assistant director. In 1930 he became camera assistant to Werner Brandes. After several short films, he established himself in 1938 with the French, shot in Berlin movie The Strange Monsieur Victor as chief cameraman. Krien soon became one of the most sought cameramen and turned, among other things, the two major Hans -Albers- color films Munchausen and Great Freedom No. 7

After the war he worked for the DEFA, then only for West German and West Berlin companies. He was inducted into the 1950s, especially in representative productions apolitical - restorative attitude, repeated with Wolfgang Liebeneiner as a director and Ruth Leuwerik as the lead actress.

In 1961 he retired for health reasons from the camera work back, founded an advertising film company and produced industrial films.
