Werner Perathoner

Werner Perathoner ( born September 21, 1967 in Selva Gardena) is an Italian former Alpine skier. The South Tyrolean won a total of two World Cup victories in his career.

Perathoner scored his first podium finish in the 1988 World Cup Skiing surprising in the departure of Leukerbad, when he finished 3rd. This was followed by a lot of injuries, so he found connection in the World Cup until the winter of 1992/93. End of the season he finished second in the downhill in Lillehammer in 24 hours two 2nd places. These results equaled Perathoner in Super G Lech in December 1993.

In the Super G in Lillehammer in March 1995, he won his first World Cup race, this victory he confirmed the following season in Super G in Garmisch- Partenkirchen. His last podium place he reached in March 1998 on his " favorite track " in Lillehammer. There he reached the downhill again a 2nd place.

At major events, he did not win any medals in the Super - G at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, he finished fifth and in the downhill at the World Ski Championships 1996 in Sierra Nevada seventh. From 1993 to 1996 he was four consecutive Italian champion in the super -G. End of the 1997/98 season Perathoner resigned.
