Werner Schumacher

Werner Schumacher ( born May 4, 1921 in Berlin, † April 18, 2004 in Bremen ) was a German actor.

Life

Schumacher began after the Second World War as a commercial and artistic director of a cabaret in Cuxhaven. Then he took acting lessons and a player with Hermann Speelmans. Then followed engagements as a theater actor, inter alia, in Hamburg, Bielefeld, Bremen, Cologne, Mannheim, Stuttgart and Frankfurt.

1948 gave Schumacher his debut with the film, numerous appearances in film and television productions to follow. He gained special popularity through his role as Commissioner Eugene Lutz, which he embodied 1971-1986 in a total of 16 films from the ARD crime series Tatort as very human investigators. In 1984 he took over the lead role in the feature film " The bells buyer ". The film by Frieder Schuller was shot in communist Romania and has the extinction of the German minority in Transylvania on the topic. In addition, Schumacher (including Cyril Chamberlain in Carry on Sergeant, and Mickey Spillane in Columbo: Read or Die ) also worked as a spokesperson for radio plays and synchronization.

1998 Werner Schumacher suffered a stroke from which he would never recover again. On April 18, 2004, he died in Bremen. His tomb is located on the Rien Berger Cemetery in Bremen.
