Werner Schuster (politician)
Rudolf Werner Schuster ( born January 20, 1939 in Moshi, Tanzania; † 10 May 2001, Wiesbaden ) was a German physician, medical scientist and politician ( SPD).
Life
Schuster was born in 1939 in Sanya Moshi in the Kilimanjaro region in Tanganyika in East Africa as the son of German settlers. In 1958 he made the humanistic Gymnasium in Rosenheim graduated from high school and then studied at the University of Tübingen medicine. In 1966 he made the state exam, the same year the promotion was followed at the Physiological Institute in Tübingen. In between, he served from 1959 to 1960 conscription with the mountain from.
Schuster went through 1970, the approbation at St. Joseph Hospital in Bremerhaven. Since 1971 he worked as an emergency physician in the context of the medical emergency service agency in Wiesbaden. From 1970 to 1983 he was Head of the Department in the field of health care in the Hessian data processing center, Wiesbaden. In 1983 he received the certificate of the Society for Medical computer science and statistics ( GMDS ) awarded as a medical scientist and since 1984 he has been in the same position in the municipal area of the data center ( KGRZ ) in casting worked.
Since 1964, Schuster was a member of the SPD and from 1985 to 1995 he was chairman of the SPD sub-district in the Rheingau -Taunus-Kreis. From 1972 to 1989 he was a city councilor in Idstein in the Taunus and 1975-1985 parliamentary group of his party. Since 1989 he was a Member of District Assembly and since 1990 member of the German parliament, in which he was able to move about the country list Hesse. He represented the constituency in parliament Rheingau -Taunus / Limburg -Weilburg. During his time as an MP Schuster was mainly involved with development and health policy, with a focus on Africa. Schuster died on 10 May 2001 in Wiesbaden clinic at the consequences of a cancer suffering.
Development policy
Schuster was known and respected across as a development politicians across party lines. He and Heidemarie Wieczorek- Zeul, later Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, were close companions. In Idstein in 1985 he founded the civil partnership Third World Idstein eV (now civil partnership eV A world Idstein / People help People - One World ) to achieve concrete development projects in Tanzania can. The association focuses on the region of Moshi at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. In Moshi itself Schuster initiated the establishment of the non-governmental organization (NGO) Friends In Development Association ( FIDA ). Schuster called some networks to life and tried to link regional and national NGOs together in Germany.
On his initiative, the partnership between the protestant church Idstein and the Evangelical Lutheran church in Moshi- Pasua was established in the year 1988. She is one of the oldest community partnerships with a church in Africa.
On 9 May 2003 the municipal office building in Bonn Kaiser Road 201 was as Dr. R. Werner Schuster on the initiative of the Council of the City of Bonn - named house. In the house there are many offices of NGOs with development policy objectives.
