Werner Stocker (bobsleigh)

Werner Stocker ( born August 14, 1961) is a former Swiss bobsledder and Olympic champion.

The Basel Economics student labeled with the Vierbob by Ekkehard setter in 1987 to third place at the Swiss Championships. In the 1987 World Championship of Champions Ralph Pichler and the runner-up Hans Hiltebrand competed, setters started with his team at the European Championships in Cervinia. Behind Wolfgang Hoppe from the GDR and Ralph Pichler finished gathering points for third place along with Kurt Meier, Werner Stocker and Rolf Strittmatter.

The following year, setters and Hiltebrand came with their teams at the Olympic Games in Calgary. While Hiltebrand only finished ninth, setters went in the third round by the fastest run time of all participants in leadership and had after the fourth passage seven hundredths of a second ahead of Wolfgang Hoppe's Bob. With the line setter, Meier, Marcel Fässler and Stocker won the Swiss Bob Gold.
