Wes Anderson

Wesley Wales " Wes " Anderson ( born May 1, 1969 in Houston, Texas) is an American film producer, screenwriter and director of feature films and commercials.

Life

Anderson studied philosophy at the University of Texas. There he met his future working partner Owen Wilson know. They both wrote the screenplay for the short film Bottle Rocket (1994). This story was processed by Anderson in 1996 a feature film of the same name. The following two movies Rushmore (1998) and The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) also come from the pens of Anderson and Wilson. For the latter film, the two received an Oscar nomination as screenwriters.

2005, the movie was released, the deep-sea diver in the movie theaters. For the first time Owen Wilson was not involved in the screenplay. In the same year Anderson acted as a film producer of the successful independent film The Squid and the Whale with Laura Linney and Jeff Daniels in the lead roles. In 2007, Anderson The Darjeeling Limited his sixth directorial work done. The tragicomic story of three American brothers, played by Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman, who embark on a self-discovery trip to India was, inter alia, in the competition of the 64th Film Festival of Venice in 2007, but remained unprämiert.

2012 presented Anderson with his seventh feature film Moonrise Kingdom finished, for which he wrote the screenplay with Roman Coppola. The story is set on the coast of New England in 1965 and tells the story of two twelve -year-old (played by Kara Hayward and Jared Gilman ) who fall in love and run off into the wilderness, after which the community (represented by, among others, Edward Norton, Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Harvey Keitel, Jason Schwartzman and Bob Balaban ) up the chase. Moonrise Kingdom opened in May 2012, the 65th International Film Festival of Cannes.

The shooting of Grand Hotel Budapest, where, inter alia, also participate Ralph Fiennes and Jew Law alongside Bill Murray and Owen Wilson were started in January 2013 in Görlitz. As a backdrop for the eponymous hotel served the local Art Nouveau department store. For the fact filmed scenes he had been inspired by the atmosphere in Ingmar Bergman's drama The Silence, says Anderson. The film premiered on February 6, 2014 as the opening film of the 64th Berlin International Film Festival and received on 15 February 2014 at the Grand Prix of the Berlinale jury.
