Wes Madiko

Wes Madiko ( born January 15, 1964 in Motaba ) is a Cameroonian singer. He became world famous, together with ex- Deep Forest - member Michael Sánchez, under the name of Wes through his hit Alane. This was alone in France for 25 weeks on the charts.

The Cameroonian artist was born on 15 January 1964, the light of the world. He was in a small village called Motaba, born and grew up under poor conditions. He says that he learned the devotion to the music of his grandfather know. 1977 Madiko was the head of a local music group, the " Kwa Kassi " that made musical beginnings together. As our group dispersed, he devoted himself to social work and traveled to Lille there to take care of children. In 1987, the group reunited. When they were seen at one of their concerts village of European tourists, this was the trigger for Madikos music career.

After his father and brother had died, he stopped for a time to make music long. 1992 but began to Madiko to give concerts again and traveled to Atlanta (United States). In a music shop in Lille Madiko Michael Sanchez met, the ex-member of Deep Forest. Together they brought their 1997 album Welenga out.

Achievements

Wes Madiko first signed a record deal with Universal France and brought his album Welenga together with Michael Sanchez out. They gave concerts around the world and hit her Alane was appointed by the French television channel TF1 to the summer hit of the year. In France, Wes Madiko and Deep Forest Alane was with the hit 25 weeks on the charts, his best result in his musical career. Other successes they celebrated in Austria (23 weeks), Sweden (10 weeks ) and Switzerland (38 weeks).
