Wes Morgan
Wesley Nathan " Wes " Morgan ( born January 21, 1984 in Nottingham ) is an English footballer who is since 2012 in Leicester City under contract.
Club career
Nottingham Forest (2002-2012)
After Wes Morgan was screened at the age of 15 years in the youth academy of Notts County, he moved to city rivals Nottingham Forest. There he was able to convince the club's management of his abilities, and signed a professional contract with Forest in 2002. From February to May 2003 was borrowed on loan at Kidderminster Harriers. In the fourth English top flight he came on 5 missions in which he scored a goal against Cambridge United.
In August 2003, Morgan made his debut at the age of 19 years against Port Vale Nottingham. During the season he was regularly employed and had the privilege to play alongside legend defender Des Walker. In the Football League Championship 2004/ 05 Morgan had the most bitter moment for Forest witnessed in a long time - the descent into third-rate Football League One.
The third year in the new league brought Wes Morgan and his team finally got the promotion back to the Football League Championship. It succeeded Nottingham Forest to remain in 24 games without conceding a goal, resulting in a new league record showed. After a hard-fought relegation in 2008/ 09, Morgan was promoted in the 2009/10 season to key players and completed 44 league games. On 16 Matchday he succeeded at the home game at the City Ground before 21,467 spectators against Bristol City, his first goal of the season. Overall, he scored three league goals. Nottingham Forest reached at the end of the season a very good third place behind Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion, and thus missed the direct promotion to the Premier League just barely. In the first play-off round Morgan failed with his team in two games in the later promoted FC Blackpool.
Also in the Football League Championship 2010/11 Forest reached the entry into the play-off semi-finals. As in sixth the team met to Wes Morgan (46 games / 1 goal) on the third Swansea City and missed two games (0:0 / 1:3 ) was again the entry into the play-off final. Morgan was elected to the PFA Team of the Year the second division due to its strong defensive performance at the end of the season.
Leicester City (2012 - )
On January 30, 2012 Wes Morgan joined the league rivals Leicester City and signed a contract for 2 1/ 2 years
