West Coast Council

The West Coast Municipality occupies most of the west coast of the island and is about 200 km north- west of the capital Hobart. The area includes 11 districts and towns: Gormanston, Granville Harbour, Lake Margaret, Macquarie Heads, Queenstown Renison Bell, Rosebery, Strahan, Trial Harbour, Tullah and Zeehan. The seat of the council is in Zeehan in the north of the LGA, where about 850 inhabitants.

Management

The West Coast Council has nine members. The Mayor ( Mayor ), his deputy ( deputies) and Councillor seven are elected directly by the residents of the LGA. The West Coast is not divided into districts.
