Xihulou (Chinese西湖 楼, English Westlake Chamber ) is a restaurant in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan Province, and is one of the largest restaurants in the world. With its 4,000 seats, it is the largest restaurant in China and in Asia; for an entry in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest Chinese restaurant in the world.

History

The Xihulou was founded in 2000 at the foot of West Lake Mountain in the medieval town of Liuyang by Ms. Qin Lingzhi. At the beginning of 2003 started the construction of the new dining facility previously unprecedented scale in the Kaifu District of Changsha City. After more than a year of construction, the new Westlake Chamber was opened in October 2004.
