West Mani

Dytiki Mani ( German ' Western Mani ') is a municipality in Greece, located on the east coast of the Messenian Gulf in the south of the Peloponnese region. Center of the municipality is Kardamyli.

The community was with the administrative reform in 2010 newly created by merging the two municipalities Avia and Lefktro.

The municipality covers roughly the area known as the Outer Mani ( Exo Mani ) located on the western side of the Taygetos mountain range. Especially in the northern town of Taygetos drops steeply into the sea. According inaccessible is the area that is accessible only via the trunk road from Kalamata to Gythio with vehicles. Outlying villages are often accessible only via spur roads. The southern part from Kardamyli is feeling better from the sea accessible to the ports in Kardamyli and the fishing village of Stoupa.
