West Papuan languages

The West Papuan languages ​​are spoken in the Indonesian part of New Guinea and the Moluccas. They belong to the Papuan. The language family includes 27 languages ​​.

The distribution area of ​​West Papuan includes the Halmahera islands and most of the Vogelkop Peninsula. The languages ​​most numerous are represented Tidore (on Tidore and vicinity) with 26,000 speakers, Tobelo with 24,000 speakers and Galela with 22,000 speakers.
