Geography
Geographical Location
Westergellersen is between the nature reserves of the Lüneburg Heath and the River Elbe - Drawehn. The community belongs to the Samtgemeinde Gellersen, which has its headquarters in the town of Reppenstedt.
Policy
The community Westergellersen part of the state election district 49 of Lüneburg and the Bundestag constituency 38 Lüchow -Dannenberg - Lüneburg.

To the motorways A 7 and A 39, which are in the west and north- east of the district, is about 15 km and 12 km. Westergellersen is in the south in about 8 km Distance to the highway 209 Lüneburg - Soltau connected to the road network - Amelinghausen.
Public transport is provided by the bus lines 5200, 4618, 4410, 5201 and 5202 the Hamburg Transport Association. The nearest train station with connections to the local and long-distance transport of Deutsche Bahn station is about 13 km from Lüneburg ( the center - to center ).
Education
Westergellersen has a kindergarten, nursery and a primary school.
