Westland Walrus
The Westland Walrus (English walrus ) was a three -seat carrier-based reconnaissance aircraft of the British Royal Air Force.
History and construction
It was a biplane of mixed fiber with a tailwheel landing gear. The two wings, both of which possessed ailerons, had the same span and showed no sweepback on. They came originally from the de Havilland DH9. The tail unit was conventional construction. The first flight took place in February 1921. Were built a total of 36 machines and three Flights ( 421, 422, 423 ) are used. However, they were made in 1924 out of service.
