Weston is a town in Fairfield County in the U.S. state of Connecticut, United States, with 10,500 inhabitants ( 2004). The metropolitan area has a size of 53.6 km ². The city is located near Westport and thus on the northeastern edge of the metropolitan center of New York City - the distance to Manhattan is 80 km, however, have no public transport, so that train or Buspendler of Westport exist in the small town.
Weston has a small shopping center, but larger shopping opportunities exist only outside. Weston is known for its extensive green areas, which the largest are the Bisceglie - Scribner Park ( 2,000 ha) counts. One quarter of the city's area is open space reserved.
This quintessential New England community has a minority share ( Blacks, Hispanics, Asians ) of just 5%. The houses are evidence of higher income ( U.S. $ 150,000 a year) and the school system is in accordance with well-equipped. 2 % of the population are considered poor (Connecticut: 8%). The municipality is currently in the hands of Tom Landry ( Town Administrator), who manages a city budget of about 50 million U.S. dollars.
