Westphalia is one of five old German colonies in Shelby County in the U.S. state of Iowa. The population was recorded in the census in 2000 160 The city has an area of 0.2 square kilometers.

Westphalia is located northeast of Council Bluffs on U.S. Highway 191
History
The town was founded in 1872 by German immigrants. In November 1875 the post office was opened.
Demography
Data obtained from the census in 2000 160 inhabitants of Westphalia were living in 61 households; among them were 43 families. The population density was 686 per square kilometer. In the resort 64 residential units were recorded. In ethnic terms, the population consisted of 100 percent of whites.
