Weymouth and Portland

Weymouth and Portland is a local government district with the status of a borough in the county of Dorset in England. It consists of the town of Weymouth, the villages of Preston, Melcombe Regis, Upwey, Broadwey, Fortune Well and Easton and the peninsula Isle of Portland. Council is based in Weymouth.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the boroughs of Weymouth and Melcombe Regis and the Urban Districts Portland.
