What's in a Name? (film)

The first name ( original title Le Prénom ) is a French film from 2012. It is the big screen adaptation of the play of the same name from the year 2010. The cast and director of the film are identical to the original cast of the play. The premiere in Germany was on August 2, 2012. The location was in Paris.
Action
The real estate agent and her husband Pierre Vincent was invited in Paris ( Babou called ) for dinner with his sister Elisabeth. One teacher and a professor of literature, and their children's names are Apollo and Mélodie ( in the original French Appolin and Myrtille ). Claude, trombonist with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and, since the early days of Babou best friend is also invited. The evening runs sociable, to Vincent reveals the future name of his expected child. He shall be called Adolphe, after the romantic hero of the novel by Benjamin Constant. This meets with rejection in the group sees only the connection to Adolf Hitler, and it comes to a bitter dispute.
The disputes cool, but when Anna, the wife of Vincent and expectant mother appears, the dispute escalated and inflamed again due to a misunderstanding. Since the child is supposed to be called Henry after the father of Vincent and Babou and the foster father of Claude, Anna defends the name and can not understand the reactions of the group. Finally, she counters that she would call someone his children Appollon and Mélodie, could not take it seriously. Although Vincent then unmasked his wit, the situation escalates.
Pierre throws his brother Vincent, he also knows since childhood, before that he was an egomaniac. He explains, among other things, that he had drowned as a child, a dog and Vincent blame have taken it upon themselves just to be at the center. Claude, opened relatively early in Vincent's name joke, holds back in this discussion. However, he wants to know what nickname he got from the group as well. The answer is plum ( " Reine- Claude" ), an allusion to Claude's potential homosexuality. Claude is furious and speechless. With his looks he seeks Anna, who asks him to utter the inevitable. Then thinks the group, Claude and Anna had an affair, which turns out to be a fallacy. Instead, Claude in five years a love affair with Francoise, mother of Vincent and Babou. Vincent lunges at Claude, meanwhile load collapses the living room table, which hurt him.
Babou feels betrayed because she has always Claude tells all frank, and her problems with her husband Pierre. Again, this is unconsciously aware of the problems and is confronted with the everyday life of his wife, who is dedicated to take a doctorate of education of the two children.
The film ends with a reconciled group and the birth of the daughter of Anna and Vincent, which they call Vincent's mother Francoise.
