Whatì

Whati or Wha Ti ( ' Marten Lake' - " Marten Lake ", therefore earlier than Lac La Martre called ) is a settlement of the Lac la Martre in the Northwest Territories in Canada and is located about 164 kilometers northwest of the provincial capital of Yellowknife. The loud NWT Bureau of Statistics 497 inhabitants ( as of 2010) mostly belong to the First Nation of Dogrib (also Tłįchǫ ) and still speak to about 92%, their indigenous language, the Dogrib ( Tłįchǫ Yatiì ).

On 1 January 1996, the settlement Lac La Martre first officially changed her name and took over the Tłįchǫ Yatiì designation Wha Ti, searching for " Marten Lake " means to take over the now common notation Whati on 4 August 2005.

Other traditional Tłįchǫ name for this settlement include Tsoti ( ' fouled water lake ' - " Waste water lake " ) and Mine Go Kola ( 'net fishing with houses ').

Wha Ti is a popular hunting ground. The North West Company established a trading post in 1793 on the present area. The tourists who come to the village, mainly want to see the surrounding wilderness with the occurring there black bears, caribou, wolves and eagles.
