Wheeler County (Oregon)

Geography

The County is located in north-central Oregon, is located about 300 miles from Washington and has an area of ​​4443 square kilometers, of which a square mile is water area. History

Wheeler County was formed on February 17, 1899 from parts of Grant, Gilliam and Crook County. It was named after Henry H. Wheeler, an early settler in the area. As one of the few counties in the United States Countygrenzen have not been altered since it was founded.
