Wheels of Fire is the third album by British blues-rock group Cream. It was founded in 1968 as a double album. The first disc contains studio recordings, the second live recordings from the Fillmore West and Winterland.

The album reached the 1st place in the charts and # 3 in the UK in the United States. In 2003, it was listed by the magazine Rolling Stone ranked 203 in their list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

Formation

Even before the previous album Disraeli Gears was released, took Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton along with Felix Pappalardi in London and New York, the first plate of Wheels of Fire on. On it is located with the psychedelic White Room is one of the best known songs of the band. For the live disk Cream gave several concerts at the Fillmore and Winterland. Producer Felix Pappalardi has selected the pieces after the musical abilities of the individual musicians. The Blue Classic Crossroads by Robert Johnson and Willie Dixon Spoonful of show Clapton on guitar, the new piece Train Time Bruce on harmonica, and originating from the album Fresh Cream Toad a long drum solo from Baker. Not used on this album plays later appeared on Live Cream and Live Cream Volume II The psychedelic graphics of the hinged cover was like the previous album by Martin Sharp created.
