The White Bear Township is a township in the State of Minnesota. It is located in Ramsey County, the only remaining township and the most populous in the state. In 2010, the White Bear Township 10,949 inhabitants.

Geography

The Township is located north of Saint Paul in the northeast of Ramsey County. It consists of several non-contiguous areas. According to the United States Census Bureau, the area is 28.1 square kilometers, of which 8.7 square miles of water.

History

With the establishment of the State of Minnesota and the White Bear Township was established in 1858. From the original 36 square miles ( 93.2 square kilometers) wide Township ( March 1959 ) were formed with White Bear Lake ( 1881), North Oaks (July 1956), Vadnais Heights (July 1957) and Gem Lake autonomous cities. Nevertheless, the White Bear Township remained as the only one in Minnesota completely urbanized Township exist and has an urban character through close cooperation with neighboring cities and the County in many respects on.

According to the census in 2010 lived in the White Bear Township Township 10,949 people in 4261 households. The population density was 567.3 inhabitants per square kilometer. In the 4261 households lived statistically 2.55 per person.

The racial the population was composed of 94.5 percent white, 0.7 percent African American, 0.4 percent Native American, 2.2 percent Asian, 0.1 percent and 0.6 percent Polynesians from other ethnic groups; 1.5 percent were descended from two or more races. Regardless of ethnicity were 2.4 percent of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

21.7 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 64.9 percent were between 18 and 64 and 13.4 percent were 65 years or older. 51.1 percent of the population was female.

The median annual income for a household was $ 86,680. The per capita income was $ 41,283. 3.7 percent of the population lived below the poverty line.
