Whitewater is a census -designated place in Riverside County in the U.S. state of California. The village has 859 inhabitants (as of 2010). It is located directly off Interstate 10, which connects Los Angeles with Palm Springs. Whitewater is known primarily for the San Gorgonio Pass Wind Farm.

Owes its name to the town the Whitewater River.

Geography

Whitewater is located in the northern part of the Riverside counties in California. Located between the San Bernardino Mountains and San Jacinto Mountains, the wind is almost constant; This is due to the venturi effect. This results in good local conditions for wind farms.
