Whitney Houston is the title of the debut album by Whitney Houston, which was released in March 1985 and sold 22 million times.

History

Once Houston had occurred in a New York nightclub, Clive Davis discovered her talent and believed in their potential superstar. They then signed a record deal.

Early 1984, work began on the album. First, Davis was hard choosing the songs for the album. At this time, like pop and dance artists were popular, many songwriters felt inspired by Houston's vocals. As a songwriter Narada Michael Walden, among others, Michael Masser and Kashif were commissioned.

All At Once is a single from the album, written by Michael Masser and Jeffrey Osborne and recorded by Whitney Houston for the album. The song was 1985/1986 released as a single in Japan and several European countries in April 1985 and became the first hit for Whitney Houston in the Netherlands. Houston also sang the song at the American Music Awards 1987.

Initially found the album on the music market is no great response, but after the release of the song You Give Good Love as a single, benefited the LP on the success and landed on the top of the Billboard charts, where it spent a total of 14 weeks in 1986.
