Whittier is a city in Los Angeles County in the U.S. state of California, USA, with 85,600 inhabitants ( 2004). The geographic coordinates are: 33 ° 57 ' 56 "N, 118 ° 1' 28" W. The metropolitan area has a size of 37.9 km ².
