Wiang Haeng District
Amphoe Wiang Haeng ( in Thai: เวียง แหง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the north of the province of Chiang Mai. The Chiang Mai province is located in the northern region of Thailand.
Geography
Neighboring districts are ( from northeast clockwise): the Amphoe Chiang Dao Chiang Mai province and Pai of Mae Hong Son province, and the Shan State in Myanmar.
History
Wiang Haeng was founded on 5 May 1981 as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ). On November 4, 1993 Wiang Haeng received the full Amphoe status.
Management
The circle is divided into three subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 26 villages ( Muban ).
There are also three " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
