Wicanderska Välgörenhetsskölden

Wicanderska Välgörenhetsskölden was a full registered 1905-1916 football competition in Sweden.

History

1905 donated the Consul Hjalmar Wicander the Svenska Bollspelsförbundet a shield as a trophy. The Association decided to award with the shield the best team in Stockholm. In the first year attended four teams and later played only the district champion against last year's winner. The revenue of the competition were similar to the Charity Shield in England to charitable purposes. In 1916 the competition, which was now under the management of Svenska Fotbollförbundet set. A planned for 1920 revival did not materialize.

And IFK Stockholm, Djurgårdens IF and AIK could win the title with a total of twelve discharged competitions four times.
