How fortunate that there are Maria is a family series, which was produced and directed in 1989 and 1990. The first broadcast took place on 25 September 1990 at ZDF.

Content
Protagonist of the series is the devout nun Maria who offend again and again with its modern and often the church opinion conflicting views. She is kind-hearted and has an open ear for everyone. Maria is happy with life as a nun, until she falls in love and faced with the question to give up her life for love.
