Wiebke Eden

Wiebke Eden ( * 1968 in Jever ) is a German writer.

Biography

From 1988 Wiebke Eden worked as a volunteer at the newspaper Jever cal weekly. This is followed by a one and a half years of activity included in an editor. She studied from 1991 to 1996 German and Education at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg and graduated with the Master's examination. Incidentally, she worked as a freelance journalist and held lectures and seminars in adult education.

Wiebke Eden lives in Berlin.

The time of red fruits

The novel accompanies the protagonist Greta by the time of World War II in Szczecin. Greta is at the beginning of the novel twenty years old. Her story is inspired by the life story of a great-aunt by marriage of the author. Greta works as a kitchen assistant in a tourist restaurant and get to know her first love there. Greta is pregnant but does not want to marry the father of the child. This was called up for military service, and falls on the front later. Greta learns later in a harbor pub know a man, whom she married at the end of the novel. Much like the Helene Julia Franck's novel " The Noonday Witch " Greta has a distant relationship with their child.
