Geography
Geographical location
The small spa resort is located in a Wieden between Schauinsland ( 1286 m), the Feldberg (1493 m) and Ballon (1414 m) embedded high valley in the Black Forest Nature Park in 740-1280 meters above sea level.
Neighboring communities
The municipality is bordered to the northeast and east by the city Todtnau, to the south by Utzenfeld, on the west by Aitern and to the northwest by Munster / Black Forest in the district of Breisgau in the Black Forest.
Community structure
The municipality Wieden include the village of Upper Wieden, the hamlet Hüttbach, Lailehäuser, Laitenbach, Neßlerhäuser, saw and Warbach, the tines Buhl, ditch, Rütte and Ungendwieden, the courts Mittelbach, Neumatt and Schwaine and the houses Beck Rain, Eckle ( Sommereckle ), Chorzów which extends in part to Utzenfelder area Niedermatt, Scheuermatt, stones, Wieden Wieden Eck and Matt.
History
Wieden is an independent municipality since 1809.

The municipality belongs to the Gemeindeverwaltungsverband Schönau at the Black Forest.

Coat of arms
The coat of arms of the municipality Wieden shows the front of a silver background a green on the place name indicative willow branch. The whole deer in gold on a blue background is behind the heraldic animal of the monastery of St. Blaise and recalls the centuries- long membership of the place to its Talvogtei Schönau.

In Wieden is a common " primary school Wieden - Utzenfeld ", which is attended by students from Wieden and Utzenfeld. The students from the fifth grade visit the main school in Schönau im Schwarzwald, the secondary school in Zell im meadow valley or the high school in Schönau im Schwarzwald.
