Wiemersdorf

Wiemersdorf ( Low German Wiemersdörp ) is a municipality in the district of Segeberg in Schleswig-Holstein.

Geography

Wiemersdorf is located about five kilometers north of Bad Bramstedt in a rural area along Route 319 South State Road 206 runs from Bad Bramstedt to Itzehoe, east of the Federal Highway 7 from Hamburg to Flensburg.

The municipality is located on the railway line AKN.

History

The first traces of settlement are already about 2500 years old, at that time, bog iron ore was mined. Wiemer village was first mentioned in 1141 as Wimeresthorpe documented. In 1800, there were around 290 people.
