Wiener Melange

The term mélange (French mélange " mixture " ) is used for various coffee beverages with milk.

The Wiener Melange (short: Melange ) is an Austrian specialty coffee. It consists of a portion of coffee (for example, espresso) and a portion of the milk with a hood of foamed milk. It was first offered in 1830 in Vienna.

In Switzerland, a café mélange or Kafi Melange coffee with whipped cream hood. The whipped cream is then topped with a coffee bean. Often, the whipped cream is also served separately in a small bowl.

In the Netherlands, is understood to Wiener Melange a coffee drink that is prepared with sugared egg yolks.
