Wigan Warriors

Wigan Warriors Rugby League Football Club is an English Rugby League club from Wigan, Greater Manchester. The Club with Bradford Bulls, St Helens RLFC and Leeds Rhinos of the dominant four clubs in the European Rugby Leagues and Super League: with 29 final appearances and 18 wins in the Challenge Cup and three World Club Challenge victories, the club is record holder. Also, a seven championships and eight Challenge Cup victories in a row in the 1980s and 90s are record. Wigan was established in 1872/79 as a rugby union club under the name of Wigan FC and Wigan Wasps and belonged in 1895 to the 21 clubs that founded the Northern Union and thus triggered the separation of League and Union code.

Between 30 January 1988 and February 11, 1996 Wigan was victorious for 43 games and eight years in the Challenge Cup.
