Wiggler (JTAG)

The wiggler called an interface between the parallel port and the JTAG interface. The wiggler based on a commercial product of Macraigor Systems LLC, the switching plan was determined by reverse engineering and then spread.

In particular, the wiggler as an inexpensive interface for designing, debugging and programming of microprocessors and microcontrollers embedded systems meaning.

One side of the Wiggler interfaces is connected to the parallel port of the PC, the other with the JTAG interface on the embedded device. The electronics consists usually only of a driver (eg 74HC244 ) or level shifter and can be customized in DIY. Due to speed limitations and the declining availability of the parallel interface to PCs and JTAG interfaces are now available which can be controlled via USB instead of the parallel port.
